Job summary

The Heart of the Valley YMCA in Appleton is hiring a School Age Child Care Specialist to support our before and after school program and work with the School Age Director and Coordinators. This full-time position serves Quinney Elementary students within the Kaukauna Area School District and emphasizes engaging activities and safe, educational experiences.

This full-time role requires presence in program from 6:15am–8:30am and 2:30pm–6:00pm, delivering positive energy in an educational

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Education or Child Care preferred but not required.
• Prior experience as a child care lead-qualified teacher.
• Leadership and supervisory experience preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of licensing and YoungStar components at school age sites.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop staff and create initiatives and activities for programming.
• Deliver positive energy, warmth and an educational environment for students.
• Maintain a safe place for students and staff in the program.
• Collaborate with School Age Director and Coordinators and local school partners.

The Heart of the Valley YMCA is hiring a School Age Child Care Specialist to support our growing before & after school child care program. Work closely with our School Age Director & Coordinators, as well as other leaders invested in bringing quality child care to our community. This position is partnered with the students and families attending Quinney Elementary School within the Kaukauna Area School District. Train & develop staff, create initiatives & activities to be implemented within programming and maintain a safe place for students & staff. As someone working with school-aged children, you'll be responsible for delivering positive fun, energy and warmth in an educational environment!

This is a full-time with lots of daytime flexibility, with a need for being in program from 6:15am - 8:30am and 2:30pm - 6:00pm.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Education or Child Care is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience as a child care lead-qualified teacher.
• Previous leadership and supervisory experience, &/or child care administration credential is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of licensing and YoungStar components at school age sites.
