Job summary

The Heart of the Valley Y is hiring Kids Corner Staff for our in-house drop-in child care program. Bring your energy to play, create and giggle with children ages 6 weeks to 7 years old. The Kids Corner offers childcare while parents & guardians use the Y, up to 2 hours per day.

This is a part-time position with shift opportunities Monday through Friday, between 8:30am and 12:00pm. Working at the Y comes with incredibly flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Prior experience working with children is preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate with both children and adults.
• Ability to multitask, with an eye for safety and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead age-appropriate activities to ensure a safe environment for children from 6 weeks to 7 years.
• Provide childcare while parents/guardians use the Y, up to 2 hours per day.
• Support a short-term childcare center with flexible hours and additional opportunities in other areas.

Working within our short-term child care center, staff bring smiles to children’s faces while leading age-appropriate activities to ensure a safe environment for our youngest members.
