Job summary

The YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester in Yorktown, NY seeks a Program Director for School Age Child Care. The role oversees daily operations, ensures safety and compliance with NYS OCFS/DOH regulations, and leads engaging, age-appropriate programming.

You will supervise staff, manage schedules and ratios, build relationships with families and schools, and partner with administration to resolve issues. 25–30 hours weekly; $22–$25 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or SAC credential.
• Two or more years of experience in a school-age child care setting.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of School Age Child Care Services, the Program Director oversees the daily operation of assigned before- and after-school programs and summer camp. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for children while maintaining compliance with YMCA policies and NYS OCFS/DOH regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Program Management

Oversee daily operations of assigned program sites.

Maintain safe, organized, and welcoming program environments.

Support engaging, age-appropriate programming and manage behavioral concerns appropriately.

Flexible schedule based on program needs

QUALIFICATIONS
