Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Child Care Assistant for Minneapolis Kids for the 2026-2027 school year. This role supports high quality school-age childcare before and after school, helping children stay safe, active, and engaged.

The position offers 30 hours per week across multiple sites. Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting staff, maintaining clean spaces, and communicating with families; background check required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or Associate's Degree in child development or a related field with 1 year of paid child experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and Site Coordinator to provide a safe, nurturing, educational and recreational experience.
• Support learning and recreation programs; reinforce positive behavior and socialization.
• Monitor activities, enforce district policies and safety rules.
• Assist with attendance, clerical duties, and classroom preparation.
• Maintain inventory of meals, supplies, and clean spaces between classes.
