YMCA of the North in Rosemount, MN is seeking School Age Care Program Staff for the before-school program. This part-time role (Mon-Fri, 6:00am-9:15am) offers a friendly, safe environment for school-age children and includes a free Y membership and growth opportunities.

The YMCA School Age Care (SAC) Program is seeking a Program Staff (age 16+) to join our team. This flexible Monday through Friday role includes a free Y membership, professional growth opportunities and more!
In this role, you'll help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where kids can learn, play, and be themselves.

Schedule:

• Part-Time, Monday through Friday
• Before school; 6:00am to 9:15am
• No evenings or weekend hours
• Hours may vary based on program and school needs

Pay:
The salary for this position is $16.50 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.

1. Job Summary:The School Aged Child Care Program Staff is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing recreational and creative experiences for school age children in a group setting. The incumbent provides high-quality recreational experiences for school aged children that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

2. Essential Functions:

• Assist with the writing and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Organize and lead a variety of activities appropriate for school-age children. Activities may include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, enrichment activities, etc.
• Ensure that the site is kept clean and organized.
• Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, daily rosters, logbook documentation, and attendance records.
• Assist in completing child and program evaluations.
• Maintain CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health Licensing for meals and snacks, if applicable.

3. Relationships: This position reports to the Site Director who reports to the Program Director/Sr. Coordinator. The incumbent interacts regularly with children, parents, and staff members from diverse backgrounds.

4. Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum age of 16.
• Complete required YMCA training courses within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
• Good skills in communication, organization, and human relations.
• Willingness to work with diverse populations

Preferred:

• Previous experience working with school age children.
• Knowledge of CACFP Program requirements.

5. Work Conditions:

• Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities which include getting in the water during swimming.
• Ability to travel locally to YMCA branches and other program sites.
• Perform all physical aspects of the position, including moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
• Must be able to remain alert in warm to hot environment for prolonged period which may include indoor pool, outdoor activities, bus rides, etc.
• May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the childcare environment.
