Job summary

NRHEG Community Education is seeking caring, dependable individuals to work in the School Age Care (SAC) program, with opportunities before/after school, on non-school days, and in summer. Positions include lead staff, paraprofessional and aide roles for ages preschool through 5th grade, offering flexible part-time hours.

Leaders must be at least 18, have a HS diploma or equivalent, and preferably coursework in early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Patience and genuine care for children.
• Strong communication with families, staff and children.
• Ability to supervise and manage groups of children.
• Dependability, punctuality and flexibility for shifts.
• Team player with strong organizational skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
• Follow district policies and safety expectations.
• Complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise children at all times.
• Provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
• Engage in activities, crafts, games and outdoor play.
• Support positive behavior and address concerns calmly.
• Follow individual student plans and health/behavioral supports.
• Greet families and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Maintain attendance and check-in/out procedures.
• Assist with daily routines and hygiene needs.
• Prepare and clean materials and spaces.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintain program documentation and timekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
