Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Program Director to lead our licensed school-age childcare program in West Pawlet, VT. This role reports to site leadership and focuses on program quality, compliance, and staff support.

You will mentor site teams, ensure safe, engaging environments for children, and collaborate with families and school partners.Employer-paid childcare is available during work hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Associate's degree or higher.
• Ability to meet Vermont DCF school-age program leadership requirements.
• One of: 10+ months experience in school-age childcare or youth programming; Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential; Vermont Program Director Credential; Vermont Teacher Licensure; Vermont On-the-Job Training Certificate; Master's degree in a youth-related field.
• Background clearance preferred but may be completed after hire for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide program leadership for school-age after-school programming.
• Coach and support site staff in daily operations.
• Maintain safe, inclusive, structured environments and program quality.
• Ensure licensing readiness and compliance with Vermont DCF requirements.
• Support scheduling, onboarding, and daily staffing needs.
• Engage families and school partners to support enrollment and communication.
