Job summary

Beacon Mobility is seeking a Charter Driver in Newbury, MA to transport clients safely and on time, with a focus on excellent customer service.

You will operate school bus routes, assess traffic, follow laws, and maintain required CDL certifications. We offer CDL training and flexible scheduling, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with a competitive $27/hour wage.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record with no suspensions.

• CDL B with S&P endorsements or willingness to obtain.
• Flexibility for last-minute changes and varied locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus to transport passengers safely and on time.
• Assess traffic conditions and monitor passenger behavior.
• Follow state and federal traffic laws while driving.
• Maintain CDL and bus certifications, including background and medical requirements.
• Assist passengers on and off the vehicle when needed.
• Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections per company standards.

A Charter Driver is responsible for transporting clients to and from their pickup point to their destination in a timely and safe manner. Operating a vehicle to safely transport people while providing excellent customer service are the most important tasks of the charter driver.

Requirements

• Age 21+ & have had a valid driver’s license for 3+ consecutive years.
• Satisfactory Driving Record (no suspension etc.)
• Ability to pass a background check, CORI & SORI
• CDL B w/ S&P endorsements OR willing to obtain
• Willing to drive to a variety of locations
• Need to be flexible with last minute changes

What You'll Be Doing:

• Operate a school bus to transport authorized passengers to and from field trips, sporting events, and more in a safe and timely manner with provided directions.
• Assess traffic and road conditions, monitor passenger behavior and other factors as necessary.
• Follow all state and federal traffic laws while operating vehicle.
• Maintain proper CDL and state school bus certifications including adhering to state and federal guidelines regarding criminal, medical, drug test and driving records.
• Assist passengers onto and off the vehicle when necessary.
• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections and safety checks as required by company standards and state guidelines.
