Job description

Job Purpose: This position is responsible for managing and coordinating various extracurricular activities, including athletics, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for students and families. This role is crucial in promoting our school’s mission, values, and Catholic identity while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Activities Coordination: Serve as the staff liaison for primary school groups including Home and School Association, Marathon, Jubilee, and Lake Area Discovery Center (preschool).
  2. Athletic and K-4 Intramural Coordinator: Represent St. John’s with SSYO, ensure the school complies with league regulations, manage and coordinate athletic calendars, prioritize student safety and well-being through guidelines, ensure coach compliance with EIM guidelines for the diocese, handle coach communication and training, execute sign-ups/tryouts for sports activities, and serve as the main contact for parent information.
  3. Lead key school events: such as Kindergarten Signing Day, events during Catholic Schools Week, and others as scheduled.
  4. Oversee school philanthropic endeavors: such as toy drives and other initiatives.
  5. Volunteer Management: Recruit and supervise volunteers, ensuring a positive experience, and act as liaison between Safe Environment Coordinator and volunteers.
  6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student participation and communication, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about best practices in student activities, athletics, and Catholic education; pursue professional development and implement innovative ideas.
  8. Support preschool activities: Facilitate integration with K-8 and provide opportunities for preschool families to transition into kindergarten.
