Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking two Scholars Extended Day Site Instructors for the Boone County SCHOLARS program at Van Jr./Sr. High School. This role supports after-school tutoring, enrichment activities, and family engagement, with planning time on Fridays.

The position requires a valid secondary education teaching certificate and at least 1 year of secondary teaching experience. Employment is part-time, 2 days per week, starting August 2026 and ending May 2027.

Qualifications

• Valid secondary education teaching certificate.
• At least 1 year teaching experience at the secondary level.
• Experience coordinating tutoring and enrichment programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tutoring, remediation, and enrichment programming for students.
• Support family engagement events and maintain communication with parents.
• Collaborate with school principals, counselors, and community partners.
• Collect and report data on attendance, grades, assessments, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with program, district, and WVDE requirements.
• Program must include at least 100 days of participation and 250 hours of instruction.
• Program may be extended if funding is available.
