Salary Range: $22.9500-$35.2700/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Scheduling Specialist II assists in the coordination of Patient Procedure/Surgical schedule. The Specialist II collaborates in the management and scheduling of complex surgical procedures that may require multiple appointments, as well as add-ons and emergent procedures, facilitating communication between patients, physicians, multiple Organization departments, and staff members. Collaborates with Insurance Verification Specialists and assists with the authorization process. Coordinates with patients in the scheduling of pre-procedure diagnostic tests and clearances, treatment plans and cycles. Creates patient itineraries and makes changes as requested. Responsible for clerical support, patient registration filing, data entry, preparation of patient charts and other clerical duties as assigned. Assists with the master schedule for procedures and coordinates case resource needs. Interacts directly with patients and works in a high call volume environment.
Participates in the continuous quality improvement processes. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventative maintenance. Maintains confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned.
