SCHEDULING SPECIALIST II - IRVINE BREAST CARE & IMAGING

Department: Allied Health

Status: Full Time

Shift: 1st

Remote or Onsite: Onsite

Location: Irvine, CA, US, 92602

Salary Range: $22.95-$35.27/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

The Scheduling Specialist II assists in the coordination of Patient Procedure/Surgical schedules.

  • The Specialist II collaborates in managing and scheduling complex surgical procedures, including multiple appointments, add-ons, and emergent procedures, facilitating communication among patients, physicians, departments, and staff.
  • Collaborates with Insurance Verification Specialists and assists with the authorization process.
  • Coordinates with patients for scheduling pre-procedure tests, clearances, and treatment plans.
  • Creates and modifies patient itineraries as requested.
  • Provides clerical support, including patient registration, data entry, chart preparation, and other duties.
  • Assists with the master schedule for procedures and coordinates resource needs.
  • Interacts directly with patients and handles high call volumes.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of departmental procedures, instrumentation, quality control, and maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two (2) years of scheduling experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of body mechanics and safety measures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare database systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to interface with all customer levels.
  • Understanding of medical insurance procedures.
  • Keyboarding speed of at least 35 WPM preferred.
