Lead the Planning Behind World-Class Mission-Critical Projects

The successful delivery of hyperscale data centers and mission-critical infrastructure depends on exceptional planning, coordination, and execution. From initial project pursuits through commissioning and turnover, effective schedule management provides the roadmap that aligns construction operations, procurement, engineering, subcontractors, and clients around a common plan for success.

At Michels Infrastructure Solutions (MIS), we deliver some of North America's largest and most complex mission-critical and hyperscale infrastructure projects. As the general contracting and EPC delivery arm of Michels, MIS leverages the self-perform capabilities of the Michels Family of Companies to execute every phase of construction, from site development and utilities through power infrastructure, commissioning, and project closeout.

Our teams support leading technology companies and developers by delivering the critical infrastructure required to power cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital connectivity. Known for tackling challenging scopes, aggressive schedules, and complex project environments, MIS combines the resources of a national EPC contractor with the accountability, agility, and hands-on leadership needed to successfully deliver world-class mission-critical facilities.

Position Overview

As a Scheduling Manager, you will provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for project scheduling efforts across large-scale hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining scheduling standards while managing scheduling resources and partnering with project teams to ensure successful project planning and execution.

This role serves as a key partner to project management, field operations, project controls, engineering, procurement, and executive leadership teams. You will help establish project execution strategies, evaluate schedule risks and opportunities, support project pursuits, and provide visibility into project performance and forecasted outcomes.

Success requires strong leadership capabilities, advanced scheduling expertise, a deep understanding of construction operations, and the ability to align multiple stakeholders around achievable project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead scheduling activities across multiple hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and implement scheduling standards, procedures, best practices, and governance processes.
  • Manage project schedulers and scheduling resources supporting project pursuits, preconstruction efforts, and active construction projects.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of baseline schedules, recovery schedules, commissioning schedules, and project execution schedules.
  • Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities while working with project teams to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide schedule reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
What You'll Do
  • Lead scheduling efforts from preconstruction through project turnover and closeout.
  • Develop and review conceptual schedules during project pursuits and proposal development activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, superintendents, procurement teams, engineers, subcontractors, and customers to establish project execution plans.
  • Review construction sequencing, work plans, procurement schedules, commissioning activities, manpower requirements, and project milestones.
  • Facilitate pull-planning sessions, schedule review meetings, milestone planning workshops, and recovery planning discussions.
  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule health assessments, resource evaluations, and delay analysis.
  • Monitor project progress and provide schedule forecasts, performance reporting, and executive-level updates.
  • Support project teams in evaluating schedule impacts associated with change orders, procurement delays, labor productivity issues, and design changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule reliability, forecasting accuracy, and project execution performance.
  • Mentor and develop schedulers throughout the organization.
