Scheduling Manager

Position Description: The Scheduling Manager will develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules with an average project value of $250M per year while supporting bid and proposal efforts. In addition, the Scheduling Manager will analyze trends and risks, reporting variances and opportunities to operations and management. The Scheduling Manager is responsible for the overall development and maintenance of a project schedule in alignment with the Scheduling SOP with some guidance and oversight from the Sector Project Director and/or Scheduling Director.

Responsibilities
  • Works with the Superintendent and Project Manager to develop, monitor and update complete project schedules on a weekly basis with the support of the project team.
  • Assists with the development and implements plans to mitigate risk to schedule and to maximize schedule performance of the project.
  • Engages and communicates with subcontractors and key partners in schedule development and updates.
  • Communicates schedule status to Sector Project Directors and Scheduling Director monthly.
  • Develops proposal and pre‑construction schedules.
  • Works with the team to develop a Baseline schedule.
  • Ensures the schedule adheres to the contract documents and SOP.
  • Participates in planning meetings and coordination workshops.
  • Incorporates resources and costs (if necessary) into the schedule.
  • Analyzes project schedules and reports changes to the critical path along with other significant variances.
  • Suggests ways to optimize the schedule.
  • Analyzes performance to date to forecast future performance.
  • Identifies and analyzes potential schedule risk events and communicates to the Sector Project Director and Scheduling Director for action.
  • Assists with the development of “what‑if” plans as required.
  • Perform schedule peer reviews and audits.
  • Integrate cost and labor tracking into project schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement in scheduling processes.
  • Provide on‑the‑job scheduling training to team members.

  • Support the company’s matrix organization format and overall goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills And Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of scheduling or related construction experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong knowledge of construction logistics, sequencing, materials, equipment, and crew sizing.
  • Industrial construction experience preferred.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in Primavera P6 (including cost/resource loading).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and analyze complex project documents and data trends.
Preferred
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) or productivity analysis experience is a plus.
  • Ability to forecast project performance and identify schedule risks.
