Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a Scheduling Intern to perform planning & scheduling activities on large construction projects this summer. This hands‑on role will give you the opportunity to directly impact the scheduling outcome, from estimate through project completions, over a broad range of projects. By analyzing, monitoring, and maintaining the projects’ progress, you’ll prepare and analyze reports, develop alternative solutions, and be a key team member in driving successful project completion.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seamlessly transitions solutions from design to construction through the collaborative efforts of Design Engineering, Design Management, Proposals, Estimating, and Integrated Project Controls. Our construction‑focused engineering approach involves a multidisciplinary team working together to maximize value for clients by improving schedules, controlling costs, and minimizing risk on infrastructure projects. This integrated strategy emphasizes collaboration and constructability throughout the project lifecycle, enabling us to identify and implement quality solutions with a strong safety focus.

Location

This internship is based out of our Lone Tree, CO office.

Responsibilities
  • Develop resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the project.
  • Develop and maintain schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations, available manpower, and resources.
  • Provide scheduling analysis for delays and impacts to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Assist in the management of internal controls including implementing new process controls, measuring the project’s performance, reporting on project status, and ensuring the integrity and validity of internally and externally disseminated information.
  • Gain and apply knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology to develop and maintain critic path logic networks and accumulate/access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems.
  • Collaborate effectively with various project teams, field personnel, and clients to create accurate reports and achieve goals under deadline.
  • Attend regular meetings and give statistical reports as needed.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

Base Compensation: $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
