Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage day‑to‑day crewing personnel functions in compliance with company policy.
• Update and maintain crew database daily.
• Manage crew changes for assigned vessels in the most efficient and cost‑effective manner.
• Attend weekly crew‑change meetings at our St. Rose office.
• Ensure effective crewing of vessels and travel arrangements.
• Monitor crew KPIs such as utilization and retention.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours coverage.
• Attend weekly 0600 crew‑change meetings at the St. Rose office.
• Assist with vessel travel budgets and continuous improvement.
• Conduct vessel visits to connect with crew members.

With over 1,500 vessel and shore‑based employees, Marquette is the largest independent towing service provider within the inland waterways.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage day‑to‑day crewing personnel functions in compliance with company policy
• Update and maintain crew database daily
• Maintain organized documentation for all crewing matters
• Manage crew changes for assigned vessels in the most efficient and cost‑effective manner
• Ensure effective crewing of vessels and crew travel arrangements
• Manage crew performance through coaching and corrective action
• Monitor Department Goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including crew utilization, travel, retention, and other metrics
• Perform on‑call rotation duties to ensure crewing function coverage after hours, holidays, and weekends
• Attend weekly 0600 crew‑change meetings at our St. Rose office to assist with crew change logistics
• Manage monthly vessel travel budgets in conjunction with the vessel operating budget, driving continuous improvement
• Conduct vessel visits to interact with and build relationships with crew members

Qualifications

• Previous experience in crew scheduling, preferably in the maritime industry
• Team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems
• Positive attitude with a proven history of solving problems; customer service experience desired
• Availability to work on‑call rotation, including after business hours, weekends, and holidays
