South Texas Health System is seeking a Central Scheduling Coordinator to support the Central Scheduling Department. You will manage a high volume of incoming calls, register patients, and verify benefits for the TX/OK Region, coordinating closely with ancillary departments and physician offices.
The role requires knowledge of ICD/CPT coding and two years of healthcare scheduling experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required.
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs the primary functions of a Central Scheduling Coordinator within the Central Scheduling Department for outpatient ancillary/surgical departments by demonstrating knowledge in computer software, coding, and outpatient procedures for the TX/OK Region. The Central Scheduling Coordinator will work closely with ancillary departments, patients, and physician offices. Will manage a high volume of incoming calls to schedule services. Registers patients and verifies benefits for the TX/OK Region- ancillary services scheduled . The Centralized Scheduling Coordinator routinely works Monday through Friday, and can be assigned to work after hours and weekends.
