Essential Job Responsibilities
- Schedule nursing department team members, providing coverage as needed to fill vacancies. Assume on-call assistance to DON and ADON.
- Communicate continuously with DON/ADON to ensure coordination of information and maintain accuracy of nursing schedule.
- Train and orient new team members and assist with ongoing training for current team members.
- Monitor, oversee, and administer medications as allowed per state-specific guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident, facility, and personnel information.
- Respond to resident emergencies, provide assistance, and arrange for medical attention or follow-up.
- Provide activities of daily living assistance to residents as requested.
- Complete forms per company policies and state regulations.
- Document changes to residents' functional status, needs, and appointments.
- Assess department for quality improvement opportunities and report issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of chargeable services and submit to billing on time.
- Attend staff meetings and in-services.
- Model punctuality and adherence to DSL standards.
- Encourage socialization and assist with activities.
- Chaperone activities outside the facility when requested.
- Maintain a safe, home-like environment for residents.
- Practice safety around equipment, chemicals, and tools.
- Report injuries immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- At least one year experience as a CNA/CMA with scheduling experience
- Management training or experience
- Basic First Aid Training
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with older adults
- Experience in medication administration
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- High level of service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly
- Warm and helpful communication skills
- Knowledge of Assisted Living guidelines, HIPAA, and nursing standards
- Interest in working with older adults
- Safe food handling procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in senior living
- Willingness to learn facility-specific computer programs
