Summary
The Scheduler/Central Supply is responsible for providing resident care and support in all activities of daily living, ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of all residents. The incumbent will also maintain the nursing department schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Creating, managing, and maintaining schedules for clinical staff, daily floor assignments, monthly master schedules, and resident escort schedules.
- Having excellent computer skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets.
- Being available to work the floors as needed, on-call 24/7, and managing call-offs by the medical team.
- Ensuring charting is completed by all medical staff.
- Assisting with serving meals, feeding, providing water and nourishment between meals.
- Assisting with personal hygiene tasks such as giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, shaves, and helping residents with bathroom travel, showers, and baths.
- Helping residents with ambulation, turning, and positioning.
- Monitoring resident stability by checking vital signs and weight, recording intake and output.
- Providing comfort by responding to call lights and requests, and reporting observations to the nursing supervisor.
- Documenting actions through forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and related laws.
- Adhering to professional standards, policies, procedures, and all relevant regulations including JCAHO standards.
- Participating in educational opportunities to update job knowledge, reading professional publications, and maintaining licensure.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a QMA in accordance with state laws, specifically Indiana.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Preferred: Long-term care experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Physical Demands
- Sitting, standing, bending, walking regularly; ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds.
- Sufficient visual and auditory abilities for communication.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
