A.O. Smith is seeking a Materials Planner to support raw material planning in a lean manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities include preparing production schedules, coordinating with sales, manufacturing, and logistics, and partnering with purchasing to resolve supplier issues to meet production needs. The role requires experience with SAP or similar transportation management systems, strong multitasking, and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Responsible for assisting in all aspects of the raw material planning process in a lean manufacturing environment including communication with suppliers and internal customers to insure all raw materials needs to support production requirements. As well as ensure customer order delivery commitments are met while achieving company cost, lead time, and inventory reduction goals.
Work with purchasing to resolve issues with suppliers relative to material availability and quality.
Identifies and communicates material supply issues that may affect production schedules.
Provides backup coverage for Inventory/Warehouse and Transportation Management positions when needed.
