Description

The primary purpose of your job position is to develop a routine schedule for the nursing department or other departments as assigned, replacing last minute absences, changes due to vacation, LOA, changes in census, etc. Maintain absence reporting and payroll processing for nursing staff. Assist the HR Department with filing, tracking, reporting, payroll, maintaining personnel files, and providing clerical support to the Human Resource Director or other departments as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Prepare schedules for all nursing staff and other departments as assigned.
  2. Assist in scheduling staff for mandatory in-services.
  3. Handle call-ins and replace staff as necessary.
  4. Post schedules in accordance with policies and procedures.
  5. Make schedule changes on the floor based on census & resident needs.
  6. Ensure daily staffing levels comply with state minimum regulations and budgeted hours.
  7. Report daily to the Director of Nursing/HR Director/Designee.
  8. Monitor absences and tardiness.
  9. Notify the Director of Nursing/HR Director/Designee when discipline is needed.
  10. Manage daily staffing reports and overtime justification reports.
  11. Total time records daily and process them for the nursing department each pay period.
  12. Enter exception reports daily.
  13. Maintain current confidential associate telephone number list.
  14. Input data into various computer systems and generate reports.
  15. Assist in implementing policies and procedures governing payroll functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years previous scheduling experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practice is preferred.
  • Experience working in long-term care or with geriatric populations is preferred.
