Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Understand project document controls and procedures.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and incorporate production analysis into the schedule.
- Communicate with site staff and subcontractors to determine actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates.
- Complete site walks to verify short-term lookaheads.
- Follow up with project team to validate the schedule.
- Contribute to the planning and scheduling process through various construction phases (preconstruction, construction, system completions, etc.).
- Support interactive planning and scheduling sessions.
- Assist project management to create and monitor short-term schedules and determine their impact on the master schedule.
- Update the schedule logic.
- Provide progress reporting to the project team to ensure subcontractors/crew performance in accordance with milestone dates of the PCL Baseline Schedule.
- Create 2D visual and 4D graphic schedules; 4D schedules for larger jobs.
- Implement subcontractor schedules into the master project schedule and track progress.
- Incorporate resource and/or load costing data into schedules as required and align the schedule to other project management tools.
- Continuously expand and update professional knowledge of all scheduling software to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Engineering Technology diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
- Basic knowledge of construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and proposal documents.
- Basic understanding of field construction operations and logical sequencing through all project phases.
- Ability to apply basic engineering and planning principles to construction challenges.
- Ability to complete quantity take-offs and understand productivity rates.
- General understanding of planning and scheduling principles, best practices, and techniques.
- Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work under strict timelines and being flexible to changing needs.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems.
- Basic working knowledge of scheduling software such as Primavera P6 EPPM.
- Advanced knowledge of the Critical Path Scheduling method related to the construction industry.
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: $101,000 to $130,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
