Job summary

Cumming Group is seeking a Construction Scheduler to support Education sector projects in the Los Angeles area. This high-visibility role requires coordinating schedules, conducting time impact analyses, and reviewing contractor plans to ensure on-time delivery.

Required are 10 years in scheduling for large construction programs, a Bachelors in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Management or Business Admin, and proficiency in Primavera, MS Project, and MS Office suite.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.
  • Proficiency in Primavera Scheduling Software and MS Office (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of cost engineering, scheduling, and change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preparation of project schedules based on defined execution philosophies.
  • Review contractor schedules for conformance and QA.
  • Evaluate change orders for impact on budget and schedule.
  • Conduct time impact analysis of schedule delays and potential claims.
  • Participate in change order negotiations and recoveries.
  • Perform Critical Path and Earned Value analyses.
  • Prepare cost loaded schedules to support cash flow projections.
  • Review progress at sites and report findings to management.

We encourage those seeking a challenging role that will give them ample opportunity to engage and impact the community with their talents to apply.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophiesPerform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assuranceEvaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedulePerform time impact analysis of project schedule delays and potential claimsParticipate in change order negotiationsPerform Critical Path and Earned Value analysesIdentify schedule related problems which arise during project execution and recommend corrective actions and creative solutionsConduct construction/project site visits for progress reportingReview contractor’s weekly and monthly schedule progress, prepare narrative of findings, submit and present to management for decision makingReview and evaluate contractor recovery schedulesPerform cost analysis in support of design and construction phases of capital projects. • Analyze actual expenditures versus budget performancePrepare cost loaded schedule to support comprehensive cash flow projectionsUnderstand, interpret and apply contracts, policies and procedures within Build LACCD guidelines.Communicate effectively orally and in writing • Excellent oral and written communicationFlexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and dutiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentRequired Education and Experience:10 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or other related field.
