Job summary

Consertus is seeking a Senior Scheduler to support the Metrolink program in Pomona, CA. You will develop, maintain, and analyze detailed Primavera P6 schedules, monitor baselines, and provide recommendations to leadership.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project scheduling for rail or infrastructure, with strong Primavera P6, resource loading, and TIAs, plus excellent communication and collaboration skills. This is a hybrid role with on-site and remote work options in California.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 for new construction, renovation, and capital projects.
• Analyze labor/equipment resources and produce resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
• Maintain baselines and monitor progress against approved baselines.
• Perform schedule updates, variance analyses, and critical path tracking.
• Identify risks, delays, variances, and potential impacts on milestones.
• Conduct Time Impact Analyses for schedule changes and delays.
• Develop mitigation strategies and corrective-action plans for leadership.
• Review contractor-submitted schedules for logic and schedule integrity.
• Produce schedule review comments and coordinate corrections with contractors.
• Create planning documents, charts, and schedule diagrams for reporting.
• Prepare progress reports and executive briefing materials.
• Develop visualizations to communicate complex sequencing and risks.
• Communicate variances and recommendations to project leadership.

About this Role:

Consertus is seeking an experienced Scheduler to support our Metrolink program in Pomona, California. This position will provide advanced project scheduling and project controls support for complex rail and transit capital projects, working closely with the Project Controls Manager, project management teams, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders. The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed Primavera P6 CPM schedules, monitoring schedule performance against established baselines, evaluating schedule changes and delays, reviewing contractor-submitted schedules, and providing clear schedule reporting and recommendations to project leadership. The ideal candidate brings significant scheduling experience supporting large-scale, multi-phase, multimillion-dollar design and construction programs, preferably within the rail, transit, heavy civil, or public infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed, logic-driven construction schedules for new construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects.
• Develop and analyze labor and equipment resource requirements and prepare resource-loaded and cost-loaded, time-phased schedules.
• Establish and maintain project schedule baselines and monitor actual progress against approved baseline schedules.
• Perform schedule updates, variance analysis, critical path analysis, and milestone tracking.
• Identify schedule risks, delays, variances, and potential impacts to project milestones and completion dates.
• Perform Time Impact Analyses (TIA) for proposed or actual schedule changes and delays.
• Develop schedule mitigation strategies, recovery recommendations, and corrective-action plans for the Project Management Team.
• Maintain logic-driven schedules that clearly identify major interfaces, dependencies, constraints, milestones, and critical-path activities.
• Review and analyze contractor-submitted schedules for logic, sequencing, progress, compliance, and overall schedule integrity.
• Prepare written schedule review comments and coordinate required corrections with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Develop detailed planning documents, time-scaled charts, schedule diagrams, and other project controls deliverables.
• Prepare recurring schedule progress reports, executive briefing materials, milestone reports, and schedule performance summaries.
• Develop effective reporting tools and visualizations to communicate complex project sequencing, schedule status, risks, and progress.
• Promptly communicate significant schedule variances or emerging concerns to project leadership and provide recommendations for corrective action.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, construction teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to obtain schedule information and maintain accurate project schedules.
• Support project leadership with schedule-related analysis and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional project scheduling experience, including experience supporting heavy civil, infrastructure, or multiple complex projects.
• Previous scheduling experience supporting rail, transit, or major transportation infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with a public transportation agency or other public-sector capital program.
• Demonstrated experience scheduling the design and construction of large-scale, complex capital projects.
• Strong hands‑on experience using Primavera P6 for CPM schedule development, maintenance, updating, and analysis.
• Experience developing and maintaining schedule baselines and evaluating actual performance against baseline.
• Experience with cost-loaded and/or resource-loaded schedules.
• Experience performing schedule variance analysis, critical path analysis, and Time Impact Analyses.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing contractor-submitted schedules.
• Ability to develop and manage progress-reporting methodologies for complex design and construction programs.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, schedule logic, dependencies, milestones, and project interfaces.
• Ability to interpret complex technical design and construction information and communicate schedule impacts to both technical and management-level stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Hours & Location

This is a full-time, exempt hybrid position supporting the Metrolink program in Pomona, California. The anticipated work schedule is: 3 days per week onsite at the project location in Pomona 2 days per week remote Monday through Friday during standard business hours The onsite/remote schedule may vary depending on project and client requirements.

Compensation Range

$178,200–$228,800 annually; Eligible for Bonus Final compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, qualifications, education, certifications, technical expertise, internal equity, and applicable market considerations.
