Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Scheduling Clerk to manage the calendar for surgeries, procedures and diagnostic testing. You will perform scheduling tasks as designated by the practice and support clinical operations with accurate appointment planning.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (or 6 months of clerical or customer service experience) and demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or Six (6) months of clerical, secretarial or customer service experience or completion of post-secondary education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology

Required

• High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or Six (6) months of clerical, secretarial or customer service experience or completion of post-secondary education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology

Preferred

• Successful completion of course in Medical Terminology or commensurate experience
• Proficient in the use and application of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system
• Prior experience in insurance precertification
• One (1) year secretarial experience at a healthcare organization.
