Job Description

General Purpose of Job: The exercise physiologist emphasizes exercise and preventive care to help patients recover from cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, aiming to improve overall health. They develop fitness and exercise programs, analyze medical history for risk assessment, and perform fitness and stress testing using medical equipment.

Essential Duties

• Conduct exercise and pharmacologic cardiac testing
• Set up and scan Holter monitors
• Establish peripheral IV access
• Perform EKGs and administer intravenous medications for stress testing
• Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends
• Work in cardiac, pulmonary rehabilitation, and wellness environments
• Apply BLS/ACLS as needed

Job Requirements

General Requirements:

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association) within 3 months
• Preferred: ACSM Certification, Certified Fitness Trainer

Work Experience: Experience in cardiac stress testing, EKG interpretation, rehabilitation, and monitoring.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology.

Skills: Interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, independent and team work, proficiency with electronic medical records, adherence to ACSM and ACR guidelines preferred.
