Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide a comprehensive scenic painting service, which will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding Universal Orlando.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Gather and prepare necessary information, tools, and items needed to complete assigned painting tasks.
  2. Paint faux finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging, and rag rolling.
  3. Perform field color matching by selecting and mixing paints with approximately 10% color matching accuracy. Create, maintain, and utilize painting documentation.
  4. Draw, layout, and paint backdrops and murals using brushes or airbrushes (approximately 10%).
  5. Paint or airbrush 2D and 3D fields and props.
  6. Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying putty, sanding, patching, priming, and base painting.
  7. Clean up the painting area, including removing used tarps, scraping, tape removal, cleaning brushes, spills, resealing paint cans, and storing equipment properly.
  8. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policies, procedures, training, and team activities.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:

To provide a comprehensive scenic painting service across the resort, supporting maintenance and expansion efforts at Universal Orlando.

EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, specializing in painting, drawing, or sculpture, preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience considered for 1st Tier.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience considered for 2nd Tier.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
