Job summary

Infosys is seeking an Infrastructure Consultant 2 to lead SCCM-based OS imaging and deployment initiatives in a large enterprise environment in the United States. You will resolve complex incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and document improvements, while coordinating with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams to ensure seamless software distribution and system stability.

The role requires hands-on experience with MDT/SCCM configurations, OS deployment, and ongoing infrastructure optimization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with OS imaging and Microsoft SCCM (Configuration Manager).
• Create, maintain, and manage Windows OS images using MDT and SCCM.
• Develop, customize, test, and troubleshoot SCCM Task Sequences for OS deployment.
• Troubleshoot issues related to OS imaging, Operating System Deployment (OSD), PXE boot, drivers, and Task Sequence failures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and document findings with preventive recommendations.
• Participate in evaluation of client IT infrastructure, prepare actionable assessment reports, and support due diligence to document infrastructure maturity and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the design of scalable, cost-effective IT infrastructure solutions, review reusable components, and develop technical documentation for deployed systems.
• Align release schedules and environment readiness, execute deployments as per protocols, perform post-deployment testing, and manage version control to track changes.
• Co-ordinate maintenance schedules, emergency fixes, and technology upgrades while ensuring uninterrupted integration into existing systems and processes.
• Facilitate performance data analysis across systems, coordinate insights on system behavior, and support capacity planning to optimize performance.
• Conduct security checks, recovery drills, and compliance audits, implement security measures, and coordinate continuity plans to maintain adherence to standards.
• Gather feedback to identify automation opportunities, analyze existing infrastructure processes, and propose enhancements for efficiency gains.
• Act as liaison with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams to document project requirements, ensuring effective collaboration.
• Develop a centralized repository of technical and procedural knowledge, leveraging insights from other projects to drive efficiency and retain organizational expertise.

In the assigned Job Role of Infrastructure Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

Required Skill And Experience

• Hands-on experience with OS imaging and Microsoft SCCM (Configuration Manager).

• Troubleshoot issues related to OS imaging, Operating System Deployment (OSD), PXE boot, drivers, and Task Sequence failures.
• Manage Windows endpoint devices within the SCCM environment, including collections, deployments, applications, packages, and configurations.
• Perform software distribution, application deployment, and Windows patching through SCCM.
• Monitor SCCM infrastructure, client health, deployment status, and overall system performance.
• Generate and analyze reports related to deployment success, SCCM client health, software distribution, and system health.
• Analyze operational data and recommend improvements to the SCCM and Windows endpoint infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain detailed documentation of SCCM configurations, OS images, Task Sequences, deployment processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide advanced technical support for Windows end-user computing and desktop engineering solutions.

Preferred Skill And Experience

• Experience with SCCM application packaging, software distribution, and patching.
• Experience supporting Windows 10/11 imaging and deployment in a large enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting, including the ability to understand, execute, and troubleshoot existing scripts used for SCCM administration and OS deployment.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
