Job summary

Ridley’s Family Markets in Idaho is seeking a cashier/scanning associate who delivers friendly, efficient service, operates the checkout, and ensures UPCs are scanned accurately.

You will train team members, maintain price accuracy, update price files weekly, and support store leadership in daily operations.

Candidates should have prior cashier experience and basic computer skills; tobacco/alcohol age rules apply.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier experience is required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent MS Excel and Word skills required.
• Supervisor skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
• Maintain good working relationships with other department managers with the objective of improving sales storewide.
• Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in the Code of Conduct.
• Provide professional examples for other store team members to follow.
• Coordinates with the Store Leader for the training of all team members involved with scanning to include trainers, executive staff, managers, department merchants and clerks.
• Tests, verifies, and scans all UPC marked items in store on a rotation basis. Frequent price verifying on direct-store delivery items is to be implemented.
• Ensures changes for all prices marked on all items, shelf tags and in-store signs.
• Ensures all in-store price markings are timely and accurate. Maintains exact correspondence with the in-store price file.
• Contributes to the profits and revenues of the store. Continually monitors pricing for errors and ensures they are corrected immediately.
• Maintains adequate and appropriate department records at all times. Updates price books on all price changes on a weekly basis.
• Supervises repairs and maintenance of scanning equipment.
• Provides a professional example for other team members to follow.
• Is aware of product and department locations and assists guests with their inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
• Attends and contributes to departmental, store and company meetings as required
