Job summary

Perdue Foods is seeking a Pallet Jack Operator in Portioning to help keep our production flow strong. You will move products on pallets using powered equipment and support storage, staging, docking, and production needs.

Ideal candidates are safety‑driven, dependable, and detail‑oriented, with prior pallet jack experience and at least 6 months of steady work history. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm; you will perform daily equipment checks and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
  • Prior experience operating pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

  • Transport materials or equipment to designated areas using pallets.
  • Move product packed on pallets or in crates as required.
  • Check to ensure loads are secure.
  • May stack empty pallets and notify supervisor of misplacements.
  • Perform daily equipment checks (e.g., battery recharge, lubrication).
  • Examine products for quality conformance.
  • May use RF scanner to scan pallets.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Follow facility safety guidelines.

Summary

Join our team as a Pallet Jack Operator in Portioning and help keep our production flow running strong! We’re looking for a skilled, safety-driven operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in moving materials with accuracy and efficiency. In this role, you’ll use powered industrial equipment to transport products throughout the facility, supporting storage, staging, docking, and production needs to keep operations on track. Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Utilize production schedules and/or shipping orders, transports materials or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.
  • Move product packed on pallets or in crates as required.
  • Check to make sure loads are secure.
  • May need to stack empty pallets. Notifies supervisor of any pallets which are not in the correct locations.
  • Perform daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • May be required to use RF scanner handheld unit to scan pallets.
  • Maintain a clean and safety working environment.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner following facility guidelines.
Minimum Education And Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
  • Prior experience operating pallet jacks is required.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements And Environmental Factors

When in a plant environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100%humidity.
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110db.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
  • Able to stand for several hours.
  • Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
