1440 Foods is seeking a Scaling Operator for our Jeffersonville, IN facility. This 3rd shift role (10:30 PM–7:00 AM) focuses on accurate ingredient measurement, equipment operation, and stringent safety/hygiene adherence to ensure consistent product quality. Starting wage is $21.40 per hour.

Position Summary:

The Scaling Operator is responsible for accurately measuring and preparing ingredients for production in our food manufacturing facility. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring product quality and consistency while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Scheduled hours for this 3rd shift position are 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM. The pay rate for the Scaling Operator starts at $21.40/hr.

Overtime Notice:

Overtime may be required and can be scheduled before and/or after regular weekday shifts, as well as on weekends. Overtime may be voluntary or mandatory, depending on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ingredient Measurement: Accurately weigh and measure raw materials according to production specifications and recipes.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain scaling and mixing equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
• Quality Control: Perform routine checks on ingredient quality and adherence to specifications; report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of ingredient usage and inventory levels; complete production logs as required.
• Hygiene and Safety: Follow all safety protocols and hygiene standards to ensure a smooth workflow and timely production schedules.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other production team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely production schedules.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the scaling and mixing operations.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Familiarity with scaling equipment and measurement techniques.
• Strong attention to details organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in machine operation is a plus.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment preferred.

Work Environment:

Production facility setting.

• Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
• Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
• Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs over an entire shift.
• Ability to physically perform repetitive motions of grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to work in a hot, humid environment when performing sanitation tasks.
• Ability to use knives to cut open bags and dump 50 lb bags at a high frequency.
