Job summary

1440 Foods is seeking a Scaling Operator for our Jeffersonville, IN facility. You will measure and prepare ingredients for production in a 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM), with starting pay of $21.40/hr.

You will weigh materials, run scaling and mixing equipment, and help ensure product quality and safety. Responsibilities include quality control, record keeping, and collaboration with the production team to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machine operation is a plus.
• Experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain scaling and mixing equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.

Position Summary

The Scaling Operator is responsible for accurately measuring and preparing ingredients for production in our food manufacturing facility. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring product quality and consistency while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Scheduled hours for this 2nd shift position are 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM. The pay rate for the Scaling Operator starts at $21.40/hr.

Overtime Notice

Overtime may be required and can be scheduled before and/or after regular weekday shifts, as well as on weekends. Overtime may be voluntary or mandatory, depending on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Familiarity with scaling equipment and measurement techniques.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in machine operation is a plus.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment preferred.

Work Environment

Production facility setting.

• Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
• Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
• Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs over an entire shift.
• Ability to physically perform repetitive motions of grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to work in a hot, humid environment when performing sanitation tasks.
• Ability to use knives to cut open bags and dump 50 lb bags at a high frequency.
