Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, is seeking an Operations Specialist at the Associate Specialist level to support the MACS Center startup, qualification and pilot plant operations for multi-modality drug substance development in a GMP setting.

You will work with development engineers, chemists, and compliance teams, contribute to equipment design, testing, SOPs, batch planning and training, and help establish procedures for ongoing operations as the facility comes online.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field plus 1 year relevant work experience OR
• Associate degree in Process Technology plus at least 6 years experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 8 years in pharma/chemical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Support MACS Center startup, testing and pilot plant operations.
• Contribute to equipment design, testing, commissioning/qualification.
• Develop and implement SOPs and training for facility startup and operations.
• Collaborate with engineers, chemists and compliance for safe, quality delivery of clinical supplies.
