Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking to hire part-time Scalehouse Operators within the Waste Management Division.

This position supports scale operations during peak times, working one or two shifts weekly, totaling 8-10 hours. The schedule is primarily on Saturdays and Mondays, with work hours between 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday.

The successful candidate will operate all functions of the scalehouse according to department policies, serve as the first contact for customers at the Loudoun County Landfill, assess waste types, charge appropriate fees, communicate policies and fees, and handle revenue collection and reconciliation. Additional support in landfill operations may be required.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, with three (3) years of related work experience in cashier/customer service roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with computers, MS Word, or related databases is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is also preferred.
