Duties include scaling waste into the landfill accurately and efficiently; inputting data for the solid waste operations including customer information, truck data, and solid waste statistics into scale software and/or database; weighing and screening loads; calculating and collecting fees; and overseeing the disposal of solid waste at the landfill tipping area.
Other duties include acting as communications and dispatch center for landfill, including receiving calls from other City departments, residents, consultants, and vendors and placing calls to service providers; providing information to customers about landfill regulations and policy, safety procedures, recycling, and other disposal alternatives; and responding to after-hours trouble calls for emergencies.
A high school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of relevant experience required.
PAY GRADE GG12 / FULL PAY RANGE $19.50 - $27.50 PER HOUR
The mission of the Solid Waste Services Department is to provide exceptional service that is both economically and environmentally responsible and meets the needs of our citizens and exceeds all regulatory standards. The department is responsible for solid waste collection and disposal services, including residential, recycling, brush and bulky waste, and special waste collection.
