An established industry player is seeking dedicated individuals for Scale Operator positions in Rhinelander. Oneida County is accepting applications to fill year-round and seasonal LTE (Limited Term Employee) Scale Operator positions with the Solid Waste Department.
JOB DUTIES: This office based position weights, records and monitors incoming solid waste and recycling, directs customers to proper disposal areas on the Solid Waste site, collects fees, provides information and answers questions both in-person and through phone calls, prints daily reports, balances cash drawers, prepares deposits and other clerical duties as needed.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified individuals must have a High School degree or equivalent, possess excellent computer skills, be able to operate a cash register, make correct change, account for assigned cash and be able to type and use a 10-key calculator. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, is very organized, is able to handle high volumes of customers, and remain calm in stressful situations.
COMPENSATION: Starting 2025 wage for this position is $18.13 to $20.72 per hour based on qualifications. No benefits offered with this position.
WORK HOURS AND SCHEDULE: Position works 20-25 hours per week on the following schedule: Monday and Tuesday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and every other Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Some flexibility provided. Position is available for year-round hours or for an applicant wishing to work only in the summer months.
