Job summary

Arcosa Crushed Concrete is seeking a Scale House Operator Relief to support multiple sites in a fast-paced environment. You will weigh trucks, verify ticket data, handle cash transactions, and provide timely information to customers.

You will generate routine reports, assist sales, and perform general clerical duties when not on the scale. Prior scale house experience is preferred but not required; willingness to travel to relief sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.
• Able to work in multiple locations as needed in a relief role.
• Able to communicate orally and in writing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Previous scale house experience desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operates scale to weigh incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Ensures ticket information includes customer, job, and product weight.
• Accepts checks or cash payments and records to Accounts Receivable.
• Provides customer information and answers questions about deliveries; may refer to sales for further assistance.
• Generates daily, weekly and monthly reports of activity.
• Compiles Daily Production Sales and Inventory (DPSI) and Customer Summary Reports.
• Records petty cash receipts and disbursements; submits to accounts payable for reimbursement.
• Answers phone, assists drivers, and supports Sales on orders as needed.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
• General clerical office duties as assigned when not serving as Scalehouse relief.

What you'll do:

• Operates scale to weigh incoming and outgoing trucks
• Ensures appropriate information on tickets for each truck including customer, job, and weight of product
• Accepts checks or cash payments and records accordingly, to be turned over to Accounts Receivable
• Provides customer information as required, answering basic questions regarding type, quality, quantity, and timeliness of deliveries. May forward customers to sales department for further assistance if needed
• Generates daily, weekly and monthly reports of activity
• Compiles daily reports including Daily Production Sales and Inventory (DPSI) and Customer Summary Reports of crushed concrete materials sold
• Records petty cash receipts and disbursements, completes and logs all sales receipts, and submits to accounts payable for reimbursement of petty cash account
• Answers phone, assists drivers as needed, and supports Sales on customer orders as needed
• Performs other duties as required or assigned
• General clerical office duties as assigned when not serving as Scalehouse relief

Working Conditions:

• Able to stand for several hours per day and work for long periods without a break.
• Able to work in dusty, noisy environment.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
