Job summary

City of Logan Environmental Department is seeking a part-time Scale Clerk to manage vehicle weigh-ins at the landfill scale house. You will direct trucks to unloading sites, weigh loads, record charges, and assist the public with questions in a busy environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, about one year of clerical experience, basic math for cash handling, typing 45 wpm, and a valid Utah driver's license. 20 hours per week with Saturday availability.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with about 1 year of clerical/bookkeeping experience.
• Ability to count change without a calculator.
• Typing speed of 45 words per minute or higher.
• Knowledge of databases and word processing desirable.
• Must possess a valid Utah driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist enforcement agents in determining acceptance of loads per EPA/state regulations.
• Explain fee schedules, tally receipts, answer questions, and direct recycling facility use.
• Perform office support and keep scale house organized; tally receipts.
