Location: Canton, OHFerrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America’s premier processors, buyers, sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Scale Clerk at the Canton, OH location. The Scale Clerk is responsible for weighing all inbound and outbound vehicles, inspecting loose loads, directing them to proper unloading areas, and assisting in the details of purchases.Summary of Responsibilities:Maintain a safe, organized work environment through PPE compliance, hazard prevention, and site upkeep.Inspect, grade, and ensure the quality of inbound and outbound materials.Manage inventory transactions, material coding, and accurate recordkeeping.Operate and maintain equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and processing machinery.Coordinate transportation activities, including shipments, pickups, deliveries, and related documentation.Train and support team members while promoting efficient daily operations.Provide customer service by assisting customers and drivers with materials, pricing, and procedures.Communicate and collaborate with customers, carriers, management, and yard personnel while monitoring local market conditions.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED and must be at least 18 years of age.Experience in scrap industry preferredComputer experience with Microsoft Office preferredGood communication and interpersonal skillsBasic math and data entry skillsAbility to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once.Ability to maintain accurate recordsAbility to follow oral and written communicationAbility to climb ladders or steps to reach objectsWork cooperatively with other employees and the publicMust be able to work in an environment where routinely exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations, extreme climate and changes in weather.Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen requiredThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $28.50 per hour.Ferrous Processing and Trading is a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
