Job summary

Cyberspatial is seeking a Backend API Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs powering our core products. You will apply a strong systems-level understanding to ensure secure, scalable data flows across our infrastructure.

You’ll write Go code, collaborate with frontend, architecture, and product teams, and own API contracts, database access, and performance tuning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building backend APIs in Golang.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Ability to write efficient SQL queries and optimize DB performance.
• Solid understanding of data structures, concurrency, and error handling.
• Ability to navigate large, interconnected codebases and system architectures.
• Knowledge of API security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs using Go.
• Build and optimize API endpoints for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, architects, and product teams on API contracts.
• Trace data flow across multi-service systems and debug issues.
• Ensure API security and proper auth across services.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues spanning API, DB, and network layers.
