iCapital Network is seeking a Scala Backend Software Engineer at the Vice President level in New York. You will design and implement high-performance APIs powering the iCapital platform within a micro-services architecture using Scala, Akka and related tools.

Collaborate with Investments Product Management and cross-functional teams to deliver robust backend solutions. The role emphasizes code quality, testing, and operational support, with a base salary between $160,000 and $200,000, equity,

• 2+ years of experience in Scala.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems powering the iCapital platform.
• Build scalable APIs and applications with a microservices approach.
• Develop unit and integration tests using ScalaTest and participate in peer code reviews.

We are looking for engineers who can build APIs and applications that are highly performant and intuitive. More than checking the boxes on specific technologies, we are looking for driven team members with technical depth and a desire to deliver end products for our clients.You will work closely with our Investments Product Management team throughout the software development process.Our platform sits on top of a micro-services architecture with services built in Scala, Ruby, Node.js and Python. If you are not already familiar with the technologies used at iCapital, you will have the opportunity to pick up these new tools and technologies while on the job—with support from management and mentors.Building cloud native services using Scala using open-source frameworks Akka, ZIO etc.Unit and integration test development using Scala TestActive participation in Peer Code Reviews as part of our standard SDLC and Change Management ProcessSupport clients through system integrations and production issues2+ years experience in Scala. (Node.js or Java is a plus)Demonstrated understanding of relational or NoSQL database concepts and modeling practicesAbility to work independently or as part of a group effort, as requiredThe base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $200,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
