Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company seeks skilled workers to erect and dismantle scaffolding for buildings and structures, rig loads, and complete a range of construction tasks. You will read blueprints, select tools, cut materials to spec, and work with ladders, walkways and platforms in outdoor environments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Qualifications

  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, locations, quantities and sizes of materials.
  • Must be able to identify tools and measure, mark and cut materials to spec.
  • Able to erect and dismantle scaffolding and install ladders, handrails, walkways and platforms.
  • Meet physical requirements and work in heights, outdoors and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and specs to determine scope, locations, quantities and sizes of materials.
  • Identify required tools and measure, mark and cut materials to spec.
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms and gangways.
  • Construct and reinforce scaffolds and auxiliary items.
  • Rig loads and perform rigging of equipment as required.
  • Estimate sizes, distances and quantities needed for activities.
  • Inspect workers' output for compliance with plans and correct deficiencies.

Perform work involving the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, operation of heavy equipment, rigging the equipment loads, and completion of various construction projects.

Experience Level
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installs ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
  • Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed Scaffolds.
  • Build and construct wooden Scaffolds and auxiliary items.
  • Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.
  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Qualifications
  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools

  • Able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Must have all required tools
  • Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
