Job summary

TIC_Craft is seeking a skilled Construction Worker to erect and dismantle scaffolding, operate heavy equipment, and rig loads for various projects. The role involves reading blueprints, selecting tools, and following safety protocols on a busy construction site.

Primary responsibilities include assembling scaffolds, installing access systems like ladders and walkways, and coordinating with management for daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, locations, quantities and material sizes.
  • Identify tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut materials to specification.
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding; install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
  • Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds.
  • Build and construct wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
  • Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Summary

Perform work involving the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, operation of heavy equipment, rigging the equipment loads, and completion of various construction projects.

Experience Level

Intermediate

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installs ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
  • Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed Scaffolds.
  • Build and construct wooden Scaffolds and auxiliary items.
  • Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.
Qualifications
  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.
Requirements
  • The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
  • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
  • Must have required tools
  • Must pass Fit For Duty Testing
  • U.S. Driver's License may be required
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
