Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Texas is seeking a skilled carpentry supervisor to oversee crews that build, position, and dismantle wooden structures such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary shelters.

You will ensure accuracy, safety, and adherence to blueprints, possess the ability to read sketches, use hand tools, and coordinate material flows on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Ability to follow instructions and guidelines with independent judgement.

Responsibilities

• Examines, selects and gathers materials and tools.
• Examines blue prints and specifications to determine dimensions of structure.
• Inspect base surface for obstructions.
• Loads, transports and unloads material.
• Measures and marks cutting lines on materials.
• Saws boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
• Uses carpentry hand tools (hammers, levels, squares, screw drivers, etc.).
• Assembles scaffold following specs and safety guidelines.
• Braces forms in place with timbers and anchor bolts.
• Erects scaffolding and installs ladders, handrails and platforms.
• Sets and braces anchor bolts.
• May rig materials.
• Performs maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment.
• Observes and complies with all safety and project rules.
