Job summary

Turner Industries Group is seeking Journeyman Scaffold Builders for nested capital work in Deer Park, TX. This is a non-exempt, local position reporting to the Supervisor and requires passing craft tests and safety council courses conducted in English.

Responsibilities include assembling scaffolding to specifications, inspecting surfaces and levelness, and securing structures with guardrails, braces, planks, and wheels. Background checks and health/safety screenings are required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in scaffold work or equivalent, depending on mechanic level.
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Hazard Communication orientation/test.
• OSHA-related safety requirements and client site safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and disassembles scaffolding per job specifications.
• Inspects surfaces, secures scaffold to structures, and ensures safe access.
• Follows client safety requirements and uses PPE as required.

These positions offer no per diem or relocation assistance; successful candidates must be local. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Supervisor; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.

5-10's, schedule is subject to change

General Job Description

Assembles positions and dismantles scaffolding to job specifications.

Functional Requirements

Inspects surface for holes, objects and levelness; assembles scaffold consisting of guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens and wheels; positions scaffold by rolling it into place; secures scaffold to permanent structure by tying.

Qualification Standards

• (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Hazard Communication orientation/test
• Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
• OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
• Job site orientation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
