Job summary

Turner Industries in Pass Christian, MS is seeking a Scaffold Builder to assemble, position, modify, and dismantle scaffolding per job specs. The role is non-exempt and reports to a Frontline Supervisor.

You will read engineered drawings when available and operate forklifts as needed while maintaining strict safety practices on site. Ideal candidates have NCCER certification as a plus and will undergo pre-employment testing and possible drug screening.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• One to four years of experience in the specified skill level
• NCCER certification is a plus
• Ability to read engineered drawings preferred
• Able to operate different types of forklift
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Site safety requirements and PPE on client sites
• Must not pose a direct threat to health or others
• May be required to provide toolbox and common tools

Responsibilities

• Assembles, positions, modifies, and dismantles scaffolding per job specs
• Inspects scaffold components for safety and stability
• Ensures guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards and wheels are secure
• Performs additional assignments as directed by supervisor
• Complies with safety rules and PPE requirements on site

We are seeking a Scaffold Builder for a position in Pass Christian, MS. This position assembles, positions, modifies, and dismantles scaffolding to job specifications. Non‑exempt role; Reports to a Frontline Supervisor (Leadman or foreman); Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• One to four years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• NCCER certified is a plus
• Ability to read engineered drawings preferred
• Ability to operate different types of Forklift
• Written pre‑employment qualification test
• Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
• Employee may be required to provide the following: toolbox, tool belt, adjustable wrench, ratchet wrench with socket, claw hammer, cutting pliers, torpedo level, tape, and rain suit

Functional Requirements

Inspects surface for holes, objects, and levelness, Assembles scaffold consisting of guardrails, mid‑rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens and/or wheels, Positions scaffold by rolling it into place or erecting in place, Secures scaffold to permanent structure if required, Some other assembly types may include hard barricades, strong backs, engineered scaffold, stairways, etc., Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
