Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding and other temporary structures at our sites in St. Gabriel, LA. A minimum of 3 years of scaffolding experience is required; OSHA and safety compliance are essential.

Education: High School diploma with lubrication technician certification. Must read and speak fluent English. TWIC Card and Valid Driver's License required.

Qualifications

• Education – High School diploma with a certification as a lubrication technician.
• Experience - 3 years minimum in scaffolding craft.
• Language Skills - Read and speak fluent English as a safety requirement.

Responsibilities

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Communicates safety hazards and mitigates risks prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to specified dimensions.
• Hoists scaffolding materials and secures scaffold to the permanent structure.
• Secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding and implements proper safety practices.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding and dismantles when required.
• Inspects and stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
