Austin Industrial, Inc. - We seek an experienced Scaffold Builder based in Houston, Texas.
This position requires NCCER, a Driver's License, and a TWIC Card.
Maintenance position working 4x10s plus occasional OT - No Per Diem.

Scaffold Builder - Carpenter

This person will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required in the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determines type of scaffold needed.
  • Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
  • Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
  • Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
  • Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
  • Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
  • Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
  • Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
  • Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
  • Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
  • Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
  • Work at heights with no fear.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience – 2 years of experience in scaffolding is preferred.

Certification/License - A Valid TWIC Card and Driver’s License - NCCER is preferred but not required.
