Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder Helper in Pasadena, TX to support scaffold builders in construction, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding. This on-site role requires physical stamina and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include transporting scaffold materials, erecting and securing components, passing tools to Journeyman, and assisting with barricades and fire watch. Must have TWIC and a valid driver’s license; legal work status required.

Qualifications

• 6+ months experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Valid TWIC Card required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist scaffold builders in construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding.
• Transport materials and erect scaffold as directed by scaffold builder.
• Hoist scaffolding materials and secure/level sections for stability.
• Pass tools and materials to Journeyman; maintain safety and site rules.
• Dismantle scaffolding when instructed; build barricades as needed.
• Maintain alertness to hazards and comply with OSHA and site requirements.

This person will assist Scaffold Builders in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling oftubular scaffolding or other temporary structures.Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work at heights with no fear.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Pass materials and tools to Journeyman as needed.
• Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Build quality barricades around excavation or equipment as needed.
• Confined space attendant.
• Fire watch.
• Equipment watches attendant.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Experience – 6+ months experience in an Industrial setting preferred.

Certification/License- A Valid TWIC Card and Driver’s License.
