King County Metro Transit's Rail Division seeks a Rail SCADA Systems Specialist Lead to coordinate the work of Rail SCADA Specialists and oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of SCADA communications systems across rail facilities. This role reports to the Rail SCADA Chief and drives preventative maintenance and rapid response to service issues.

This position’s primary responsibilities include assigning and coordinating the work of the Rail SCADA Systems Specialists in addition to installing, maintaining, and repairing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) communications systems, components, and equipment throughout the rail systems and facilities. The Rail SCADA Lead reports directly to the Rail SCADA Chief.
King County Metro Transit's Rail Division manages and maintains Sound Transit's Link light rail service and City of Seattle’s streetcar system. Link light rail currently spans a 63-miles route and includes 50 stations. The 1 Line operates from Federal Way to Lynnwood and the 2 Line operates from Redmond to Downtown Seattle. Additional expansions to the Link system will be coming online for years to come.
Seattle Streetcar includes the 1.3 mile South Lake Union line and the 2.5 mile First Hill line, proudly serving the diverse and vibrant communities around Seattle’s downtown core. These rail services complement Metro's extensive fixed-route bus system and mobility services. Puget Sound transit agencies are collaborating to create an integrated transit network that enables people to travel farther, faster, and more easily.
This recruitment may immediately fill up to two (2) Career Service positions and may also be used to establish an eligibility list for future Career Service, as well as any fully-benefitted Term-Limited Temporary (TLT)/Special Duty Assignment (SDA), vacancies, valid up to 12 months or until the list is exhausted, and at the discretion of the hiring authority.
This position is open to King County employees and the general public.

This position is full time, assigned 40 hours per week. Work schedule may include non- standard work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. This position is non- exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore overtime eligible, with prior supervisory approval.
The work performed for this position is primarily on-site at four Link Light Rail Operations and Maintenance Facilities: Central (3407 Airport Way South, Seattle), East (1925 120th Ave Bellevue WA 98005), South 2233 S 320th St, Federal Way, WA 98003 and North (920 North 137th Street, Seattle). Locations may change in the future based on operational needs.
These positions are considered safety-sensitive. Applicants for positions defined as safety-sensitive are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, subsequent to the commencement of employment, will be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and follow-up drug and alcohol testing in compliance with Federal DOT alcohol and controlled substances testing program protocols.
